ACCESSIBILITY MARQ

The MARQ is one of the most accessible museums in Spain for people with disabilities. This is the result of a study carried out by the Plataforma representativa Estatal de Personas con Discapacidad Física (PREDIF) and whose results are included in the Guia de monumentos, museos y puntos de interés turísticos accesibles a todos, published by the Platform.

The guide, which will be presented on 8 June in Madrid, aims to contribute to the normalisation of tourism for people with disabilities by providing information on accessible destinations and establishments in Spain.
The Accessible Tourism programme started in PREDIF in 2002. It arose as a result of our collective's demand for their right to autonomy and normalisation also in leisure and tourism.

The Archaeological Museum of Alicante's priority objective is to facilitate access to culture in general and particularly to its archaeological heritage to any citizen who visits it. Therefore, optimising accessibility to its facilities and cultural heritage for people with disabilities is a priority for the MARQ, which has signed collaboration agreements with ONCE (2006), APSA (2007) and COPSEA, among others, which allow the organisation of activities adapted to people with physical or mental disabilities.
