Interview with the Director of Security at MARQ

The April issue of the magazine CUADERNOS DE SEGURIDAD includes a detailed analysis of security in museums and heritage.

"Art centres, museums, galleries, etc. must have an adequate and acceptable level of security. These are facilities which, together with the valuable and irreplaceable works they house, are exposed to a wide range of risks. The conservation and, of course, the security of our artistic heritage, as we have pointed out in these same pages in previous issues, is one of the objectives of museum directors, and not only of them, once again, the figure of the person responsible for the security of the museum installation plays a fundamental role. In order to guarantee this security, technology has played and continues to play an essential supporting and complementary role. Security services and systems which, as the years go by, are being perfected, thus helping the excellent work carried out by those in charge of security in order to be able to count on two important elements: prevention and protection".

This issue includes an interview with Tomás Jiménez Pareja. Director of Security at the Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ). 2nd Head of the Department of Internal Affairs. Diputación de Alicante in which various aspects related to the security of the MARQ as well as the archaeological sites are reviewed.
