From Friday 10 June to Sunday 12 June, the Provincial Archaeological Museum hosted a training session for the II Edition of the Master's Degree in European Museology organised by the University of Milan (IULM).
The Alicante museum was, for the second consecutive year, the setting for the practical phase of this master's degree, the theoretical phase of which began in December. The teaching is complemented by study trips that offer students the possibility of direct "field" learning in quality European museums.
Thus, the internship period of this course starts with a training trip to MARQ, winner of the 2004 European Museum of the Year award and one of the few museums in Europe to have activated Total Quality Management (TQM).
The scientific director of the master's degree, Professor Massimo Negri, stressed that "the MARQ is worth a visit, as it has an excellent balance between scientific and educational content and its impact on the outside world, which is not easy".
During this practical phase in Alicante, the participants learned about the museum's collections, the research programme and educational activities, and will take a tour of the permanent galleries in order to get to know the MARQ's innovative museographic proposal. In addition, museum executives will give presentations highlighting the museum's management model.
The students also visited the MACA and complemented the training phase with a visit to the MAHE (Elche).
