The Alicante Provincial Councilin collaboration with the Pedreguer Town Councilhas launched the fifth excavation campaign in the Randero Cave which will run through September.
The Member of Parliament for Culture Juan Bautista Roselló explained that this scientific project was initiated in the year 2007 and is directed by MARQ technicians. In addition, he added that the provincial institution will allocate to this new edition15,000 euros for the expenses The project will be used for the development of the campaign in the area, as well as for subsequent work and research.
These archaeological excavations are focused on the recognition of the habitation and funerary use by Middle Neolithic shepherds. This year's intervention aims to documenting the structure and determine the conditions in which the primitive herders lived.
