New training courses for teachers CEFIRE-MARQ

As part of the course organised by CEFIRE Alicante "General teaching resources for Social Sciences, Geography and History. First cycle of ESO", the Department of Didactics will give talks on 11 October and 10 November 2011 on "Teaching history in the first cycle through the MARQ".

The course aims to contribute to the training of teachers in the use of various curricular materials and resources for learning in the classroom and beyond. It also aims to develop various strategies and techniques for the effective use of resources.

The sessions will consist of a visit to the permanent galleries of the MARQ where teachers will be shown the interesting educational resources present in the different permanent exhibition rooms and that facilitate the understanding of the historical stages present in the curriculum of the first cycle of ESO. The educational possibilities of the museum are multiplied with the addition of the archaeological parks managed by the MARQ: the Iberian-Roman city of Lucentum, the coastal site of La Illeta, the rock shelters of Pla de Petracos and the Almohad tower of Almudaina.

On the other hand, talks will be given where the programme of didactic activities, resources, educational projects ("Amarqdrina una pieza"), workshops, visits and didactic material that the museum offers will be developed. All this constitutes a wide range of strategies aimed at schoolchildren. MARQ's educational proposal has taken into account the specific characteristics of the students, relating the contents to the current school curriculum, in this specific case to the 1st and 2nd years of ESO.

This course is aimed at secondary school teachers specialising in Geography, History and Art.
