Luisa Pastor stated that "With this extension, we are able to highlight the value of the important archaeological legacy that this enclave treasures. The Diputación de Alicante will continue to promote research work to discover and show visitors all the documentary and historical wealth of the Tossal de Manises.".
"Knowing the past and our origins allows us to better face the future and this site shows our history and reveals, for example, how the Romans lived in the city or how cultures developed."The President pointed out.
The Tossal de Manises retains its entire urban area intact -about 25,000 metressquares- with a wall whose perimeter measures more than 600 metres. In recent years, the actions have been directed to bringing the Roman Forum to light and the main streets leading to it and which occupies a central place in the area. It was here that the administrative, religious, social, financial, commercial and recreational activities linked to Rome were brought together.
For his part, Juan Bautista Roselló stressed the importance of the work carried out by the provincial institution to enhance the value and magnify the site, turning it into a tourist attraction of reference in the province and pointed out that "... the site has been a tourist attraction of reference in the province".this enclave is a real architectural, monumental and archaeological jewel, one of the best sites in Alicante and the Valencian Community.".
