The American artist and activist Matt Lamb died on Saturday in Chicago at the age of 79. His family expressed their gratitude for the expressions of support from Spain and other parts of the world.
Matt Lamb visited Alicante in 2010 on the occasion of the presentation of one of his most emblematic projects "Umbrellas for Peace", an initiative to which the MARQ adhered, exhibiting these umbrellas for a few months in the hall of the museum in collaboration with the Alió Foundation, as well as inaugurating a permanent space in the access area of the MARQ "El Rincón por la PAZ" (The Corner for PEACE) with the donation of several of his works.
Umbrellas for Peace' is a global art project that encourages people of all ages to paint umbrellas with children and display them at gatherings of all kinds as a symbol of the search for positive values such as international harmony.
Rest in peace.
