TheProvincial Archaeological Museum is currently immersed in the preparatory work for the new temporary exhibition "...".The Treasure of the Barbarians"The exhibition is scheduled to open at the end of March. The exhibition, consisting of more than 600 pieces from the Palatinate Historical Museumlocated in the German city of Speyer, will be exhibiting for the first time in Spain important treasures representative of daily life in Roman times during the 3rd century AD.found under the waters of the river Rhine.
As a complement to this important international exhibition, the MARQ Foundation has produced a educational audiovisual which contains information about the exhibition and the pieces that make it up, as well as about the Alicante complex and the Palatinate Historical Museum.
With a duration of approximately fifteen minutesthe work, which will be screened during the exhibition, tells the story of the discovery of the Treasure of NeupotzThis is one of the largest collections of Roman-period metalwork in Europe, which stands out for the beauty and quality of its objects, as well as for being testimony to one of the least known periods in the history of the Roman Empire.
The Archaeological Museum of Alicante has a renowned audiovisual production. The documentaries "Art and Empire: Assyrian Treasures from the British Museum" and "The Beauty of the Body. Art and Thought in Ancient Greece"produced by the Diputación de Alicante, in addition to the DVD "MARQ; the first archaeological museum of the 21st century"have been selected to participate in leading European specialised events, such as the International Archaeological Film Festival of Bidasoa, the MUVI Festival from Zagreb,in Croatiaor the Unicaja Scientific Film Competition.
