With the lighting of the tree, MARQ kicks off a full and varied programme of fun and educational activities for children.
CHILDREN'S THEATREA series of performances have been scheduled with entry will be free of charge limited to the capacity of the venue. All performances will start at 11:30. The dates and plays are as follows:
WISHING TREE.Another of the protagonists of our gardens is one of the large ficus trees that give access to the museum's ticket offices. There, throughout this period, anyone who comes to our facilities can hang their best wishes for the coming year from one of its branches, by means of a "wishing ball". From 14 December 2012 until 5 January 2013. Everyone who makes a wish will be entered into a draw to win a Family Friend Card, valid for one year, for free entry with all the members of your family to MARQ and its Archaeological Parks.
ROYAL BOX.We also have the privilege of having a Royal Mailbox on the steps of the MARQ foyer, where a royal emissary will deliver letters to the Three Wise Men from the East. Thus, all the little ones who visit us will be able to ask them for their presents from here. From 22 December 2012 to 5 January 2013.
EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS.Santa Pola. Archaeology and Museum. Games, guided tour of the temporary exhibition and workshops: Neolithic Printed Ceramics and Modern Age Glazed Ceramics. These workshops, aimed at children aged between 8 and 14, will take place on 26 and 27 December and will begin at 12.30 p.m.
Llumiq in solidarity
The act of celebration of the beginning of Christmas promoted by the MARQ, consisting of the traditional lighting of the tree and the activities that surround it, this year includes a solidarity action carried out in conjunction with the Pla Neighbourhood AssociationThe collection of imperishable foodstuffs to be handed over to the Alicante Food Bank.
The Neighbourhood Association Barrio del Pla, incorporates this joint initiative with the MARQ to its campaign "A kilo of solidarity" and invites its members and associates, those who live and work in the neighbourhood and those who attend the lighting of the MARQ tree to join in and collaborate with their contributions from 6pm on Friday 14th December.
