The MARQ brings the site of the Illeta dels Banyets closer to the public through dramatised visits.

The Foundation of the Valencian Community MARQ and the El Campello Town Council signed yesterday a collaboration agreement to work together to promote tourism and culture at the archaeological site of the Illeta dels BanyetsOur manager, Francisco Sirvent and the local mayor Juan José Berenguer signed the agreement, which envisages as its main activity the realisation of dramatised visits to the enclave. The event was also attended by the councillor for Tourism of the consistory Lorena Baeza.

Thus, citizens will be able to discover various aspects related to its origins and to learn the history of its past together with the people who inhabited the site at that time, from the Iberian world to the 16th century. The initiative, of about eighty minutes in lengthwill kick off this Easter with three shows taking place on the following days 29, 30 and 31 March at 12:00 noon.

In this sense, Paco Sirvent pointed out that this activity will help to promote and raise awareness of this important archaeological site, one of the most important in the Valencian Community, not only among the residents of El Campello but also among the tourists who visit the municipality during these days.

A total of fourteen dramatised visits make up this activity which, under the title 'La Illeta,Cradle of Civilisations'will last until next September. Those interested in attending these dramatised visits can only purchase their tickets through the website Instant Ticketwith a price of 5.50 for adults and 3,50 Euro for children between 5 and 14 years of age.. The children under 5 years of age have the free access.

The mayor said that it is positive for the City Council to be able to work together with MARQ in the development of this project that aims to enhance and animate the Illeta dels Banyets.

In addition, the collaboration agreement signed yesterday morning includes the development of joint activities such as courses,exhibitions, congresses o days and the promotion and dissemination of the site by the Tourist Office of the municipality. -The information is available on the Internet or in the form of brochures and leaflets.

In addition, the MARQ and the El Campello Town Council will draw up protocols for action in order to leveraging resources, the possibilities, the products and the offer of the archaeological park through social networks -Facebook, Twitter, etc.- or with the organisation of protocol visits, familiarisation trips or press trips.

The calendar The following is the list of dramatised visits:

  • Days 29,30 and 31 March at 12 noon.
  • Days 6, 13,20 and 27 July at 20:00.
  • Days 3, 10, 16, 24 and 31 August at 20:00.
  • Days 7 and 14 September at 20:00.
