On 20 and 21 April, MARQ will offer the possibility of attending extraordinary dramatised visits to the exhibition. Santa Pola. Archaeology and Museumon the occasion of its closure at the end of April. The Museum's initiative has been made possible thanks to the support of the Santa Pola Town Council and the Fundación Comunidad Valenciana-MARQ.
The event offers a pleasant approach to the contents of the exhibition for the visiting public, through the "protagonists" of the history of Santa Pola. The exceptional event could not have taken place without the selfless participation of a large group of volunteers from Santa Pola, who have put in their effort and enthusiasm. The performance, designed under the careful supervision of the Museum's director, Mª José Sánchez, has been re-staged on this occasion, adapting it to the MARQ's exhibition area. This is an opportunity to enjoy this activity that has been so successful during its representation, until recently, in the municipal museum itself. The work of the team of volunteers, which is a commendable example of the involvement of society in the preservation and dissemination of its rich archaeological and ethnographic heritage, should be highlighted.
As an added attraction, the public will be able to enjoy the carefully selected period costumes, a collection that the Santa Pola Museum has generated over the years in which this activity has been held. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in a Historically inspired hairdressing workshop which, at the same time as the performances, will take place in a MARQ classroom, during which those who so wish will be given hairstyles similar to those of the actors taking part in the dramatised visit.
Programming will take place between 12:00 and 14:00 and 17:00 to 19:00 on Saturday 20 April and from 12:00 to 14:00 on Sunday 21 April. In each section there will be three shows, with a capacity of 30 people per show, starting at 12:00, 12:30 and 13:00 in the mornings, and at 17:00, 17:30 and 18:00 on Saturday afternoon. Due to the limited capacity, it is necessary to register and reserve tickets, which can be done through the MARQ website or at the museum's own ticket offices.
