The MARQ hosts the exhibition of a pneumatic hand crank organ of late 19th century which, along with twelve metal discs, were donated to MARQ by the brothers Carmen and Luis Botella García in 2006. This exhibition, which is the result of rigorous documentation, research and restoration work, has made it possible to recovering the look and sound it must have had in its origin the piece.

The show is also complemented by an audiovisual and a monographic catalogue that deepen their knowledge of this instrument, from its donation to the discovery of its name, as well as the establishment where it was acquired (according to the metal plaque on the case of the instrument, it was sold in the Giner bazaar in Valencia), the history of the owners and their relationship with music, and the restoration work that has been carried out.

Pastor pointed out that This is a magnificent exhibition that invites the visitor to enjoy a suggestive journey through time and offers a portrait of the musical tastes and customs of the citizens of the late 19th century. In addition, in our temporary exhibitions section of the MARQ website all our friends will be able to listen in full and with perfect fidelity to what was the original sound of the Amorette, the recording of the twelve discs donated to the museum. This work, which has been produced thanks to the work of the Alicante musician and composer Luis Ivarsincludes among its passages polkas as 'La Estudiantina', popular songs such as 'El Turia' or 'La Paloma', marches and waltzeswhich represent the musical tastes of the time, among others.
Carmen Botella explained that This instrument was bought by my grandfather Arturo García Soler in Valencia and later he took it to his house in Aspe, where my brother and I used to play with it when we were little. Over the years, when we sold the house in the village and brought the Amorette to Alicante, it seemed to me that the best place for it to be exhibited was here, in the MARQ, a museum that is extraordinary for me..
This initiative is part of our exhibition programme in our entrance HALL. and replaces the sample "Prestige and eternity. The funerary offerings of the Eastern Cave of Peñón de la Zorra", The collection is made up of a group of pieces from the end of the Copper Age and has been at MARQ since last November.
