The MARQ celebrates "Older Deaf People's Day" with recreational and educational activities for this group.

TheArchaeological Museum of Alicante today commemorates the "Day of the older deaf people of the Valencian Community"The MARQ will be offering a full programme of fun and educational activities aimed at this group of people. Through this initiative, the MARQ aims to disseminate and facilitate the access for the hearing impaired to cultural heritage that the province treasures.

         This conference, developed in collaboration with l'Associació de Persones Sordes de L'Alicantí -APESOAThe Federation of Deaf People of the Valencian Community - Federación de Personas Sordas de la Comunidad Valenciana -.FESOR- and the Alicante City Council's Department for Social ActionThe conference, among other activities, included the conference "The MARQ, a museum for everyone" or an archaeology workshop. The participants also toured the rooms of the centre using the sign guides designed by the complex and accompanied by a guide who informed them of the contents of the exhibitions in sign language.

The Archaeological Museum of Alicante has been collaborating for years with various associations and organisations in the province in the implementation of initiatives aimed at the hearing-impaired public, and is currently working on the following projects one hundred per cent adapted so that this group can enjoy its contents.
