The accessibility project for the Archaeological Museum of Alicante has been awarded one of the Solidarity Prizes given annually by the ONCE Foundation Valencian Community. This award recognises the work of those individuals, institutions, companies, NGOs and organisations that develop programmes related to the integration of people with disabilities and the removal of barriers physical and mental disabilities that promote equal opportunities.
In this case, the organisation has highlighted the programme that the MARQ is promoting with the aim of making art and archaeology accessible to all citizens and covers both the permanent collection and the temporary exhibitions hosted by the museum. Among the solidarity projects carried out by the MARQ are the signed multimedia teaching guide of each of the permanent rooms of the centre or the information panels in Braille of the archaeological site of the Tossal de Manises that make it easier for blind people to get to know the contents of the park in a simple way.
