Manuel H. Olcina Domènech took office as Technical Director of the Archaeological Museum of Alicante in a ceremony held yesterday, 27 March 2014, at the Provincial Council of Alicante, before the President of the Provincial Council, Luisa Pastor, the Deputy for Personnel, Adelaida Pedrosa, and the Deputy for Culture, Juan Bautista Roselló.
Numerous colleagues from the provincial institution and the MARQ accompanied Olcina in this official act by which the agreement of the Governing Board of the Provincial Council to appoint, by the procedure of free appointment, the civil servant of the Provincial Council, Manuel H. Olcina Domènech to the post of Technical Director of the Provincial Archaeological Museum, effective from 25 March 2014, date of its publication in the BOP - Official Gazette of the Province - No. 57, became effective.
Manuel H. Olcina has carried out a large part of his research and museum work at the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Alicante, where he joined in 1991, by competitive examination, as Curator of Archaeology. Since 2003 he has been Head of the Collections and Excavations Unit, taking charge, from 2006 onwards, of the functions of Technical Director of the Museum.
