MARQ designs a Cultural and Recreational Day to commemorate the International Day for Monuments and Sites as well as Bicycle Day

As part of the MARQ Links Campaign, which takes place in spring 2014, the Archaeological Museum of Alicante is organising a bicycle route on Sunday 27 April. A cultural day in which we will merge and commemorate together the International Children's Day Monuments and Sites and the Bicycle Day.

With MARQ and from MARQ different links are established, such as: Museum-Archaeological Sites-Monuments and Sites of Cultural Interest; Museum that unites past, present and future; Museum, a tool at the service of Society.

For all these reasons, and based on the initiatives proposed by various groups and citizens, friends of the MARQ, we are organising this route that starts at the Archaeological Museum and ends at the Tossal de Manises (Lucentum).

The experience also serves to get to know new routes and different ways to reach our cultural centres of interest, using the bicycle, an ecological and healthy means of transport. We will join the Archaeological Museum of Alicante with its nearest archaeological site, using mainly bike lanes and secondary roads, traditional paths of the Huerta de Alicante, a place full of monuments declared of Cultural Interest.

The Marq thus joins proposals for the dissemination of heritage, leisure and culture, and actively participates in the regional structuring, through these routes for cyclists and walkers, which can be easily accessed from the municipalities of Alicante, San Joan de Alacant, El Campello, Mutxamel and San Vicente del Raspeig, in which our centres: Museum, Lucentum and Illeta dels Banyets, are places of reference.

Cost 1€.

Please register in order to be able to contact participants in case of changes to the planned programme.
