Nearly 300 children are taking part in MARQ's programme of fun and educational activities this summer.

The Archaeological Museum of Alicante ends this week its summer programme of children's activities which this year has been attended by about of 300 childrenThis initiative, developed during the months of July and August, will culminate next July. Friday 29th at 18:00 hours with a great farewell party which will take place in the gardens of the MARQ and to which all those who have participated in this cultural proposal are invited.

        During the day, which can also be attended by the boys' families and friends, the prizes for the Best Children's Group will be awarded.,for Best Reproductions of Pieces and Best Drawings. In addition, there will be various performances, workshops, games, magic, and a photocall where participants will be able to have their photographs taken.

The Member of Parliament for Culture Juan Bautista Roselló highlighted the success of this playful and didactic proposal that every year brings together a multitude of children and pointed out that the aim of this initiative is to create a meeting point where young people can explore, discuss and discover the history of their ancestors..

         The programme 'Summer at MARQ', which has reached its tenth edition this year, is aimed at children between 6 and 14 years of age. These week-long courses allow them to learn while decorating plaster masks, playing with paper, making fans or moulding clay figures. During the courses, the children also visit the permanent collection of the museumas well as the international exhibition "Lords of Heaven and Earth. China in the Han Dynasty", which brings back the customs and secrets of this civilisation.

        In addition, the participants get a close-up look at the remains of the archaeological sites of the Tossal de Manisesin the Roman city of Lucentum, and the Illeta dels Banyetsin El Campello, where they travel thanks to the collaboration of the TRAM.
