For the first time, the MARQ has organised a guided tour adapted for deafblind people to the temporary exhibition "Lords of heaven and earth. China in the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD)", in collaboration with the Spanish Association of the Deafblind. ASOCIDE and the Deaf People's Association of L'Alacantí APESOAwhich will take place on 18 October at 10:30h .
With this new initiative, the Museum continues to develop activities that are accessible through two lines of action The first is focused on developing programmes aimed at disseminating the Museum's content, adapting it to the characteristics and needs of people with disabilities. In this sense, the following have been created collaboration networks with different associations and groups with which the actions carried out in this area are designed and monitored. The didactic resources for accessibility have also been expanded through sign-guides, explanatory videos in sign language, guides and signs in Braille, reproduction of pieces, leaflets with macro characters, tactile plans, reliefs in Fuser and thermoforn and panels in Braille at the archaeological sites of Lucentum and the Illeta del Banyests.
In addition, the MARQ incorporates from the very beginning of its architectural design measures that take into account people with mobility problems and sensory functional diversity, both visual and auditory, enabling them to the entry of people with guide dogsamong other measures.
The second line of action in the field of accessibility consists of carrying out didactic, educational and cultural activities specifically created for these groups.
