The weekend of 16 and 17 May the various cultural venues in the city of Alicante will jointly commemorate, with days of DOORS OPEN and numerous didactic proposals, the "International Museum Day"This year's edition is dedicated to promoting a sustainable society. For the third year running, Alicante's museums are joining forces to offer a full programme of activities which can be consulted on the website www.museosalicante.com.
The Deputy for Culture, Juan Bautista Roselló, together with representatives of the participating museums, presented the proposals programmed for this celebration, to which the MARQ, the MUBAG, the MUA, the MACA, the MUSA, Las Cigarreras, the Volvo Ocean Race Museum and the Museo de Aguas de Alicante will be added.
Roselló highlighted the good reception that this proposal has had in the three years that it has been carried out and emphasized the complicity and coordination between all the museums in Alicante to offer a full calendar of activities over two days..
The deputy for culture pointed out that Both the City Council and the Diputación de Alicante have joined forces to promote this dynamic and lively project that aims to enhance the value of our cultural and artistic heritage, bringing it closer to the public in an easy, simple and free way with numerous initiatives.
Workshops, competitions, games, guided tours and open days with free admission make up the list of activities available to those interested, for which, as in the previous edition, a special programme has been designed. visitor's card. This document will be stamped in each of the complexes to which the citizen goes and will allow him/her to obtain a gift when it has visited five of the eight centres that are part of this initiative.
The MARQ will commemorate the "International Museum Day holding open days withfree entry on Saturday 16 May - from 10:00 to 24:00 hours - and Sunday 17 May - from 10:00 to 14:00 hours -.
The centre has also organised various educational games for children from 4 to 12 years old focusing on the official motto of this celebration 'Museums for a sustainable society'.
