The Foundation of the Valencian Community MARQ and the APSA Association have signed a collaboration agreement to promoting accessibility of the members of this group to the facilities of the Archaeological Museum of Alicante and the sites of Tossal de Manises and Illeta del Banyets.
The President of the Alicante Provincial Council Luisa Pastor and the president of the organisation Isabel Manero have signed this agreement which envisages, among other actions, the scheduling of guided tours adapted to people with intellectual disabilities.
Likewise, both entities will collaborate in the development of actions related to leisure and free time for this group and will promote access to the different archaeological pieces and materials that form part of the museum's collection or that are on display in its exhibitions.
Pastor said that the aim of this initiative is to open the doors of the Archaeological Museum of Alicante and make it more accessible.. He added that MARQ is an example to follow in terms of integration and has been collaborating for years with various associations and organisations in the province in the implementation of initiatives aimed at the disabled public..
For his part, Manero stressed the importance of this collaboration agreement, which will allow APSA members to learn more about the contents and exhibitions that MARQ continually hosts.
To facilitate the execution of these initiatives and their trackingas well as for the incorporation of new proposalsthe agreement also provides for the establishment of a Joint Committee composed of members of both parties.
