The MARQ starts the school year with an educational programme that for the first time includes excavation workshops at the archaeological sites.

        The youngest visitors will be able to dress up as prehistoric, Iberian or Roman characters to make visits to the excavations more dynamic and motivate schoolchildren to learn about the history and heritage of the province.

- The permanent exhibitions are joined by proposals such as "The stories of MARQ" or "Amarqdrina one piece".

- An exhibition dedicated to the castles of Alicante and another on the rich archaeological legacy of Cocentaina are the next projects of the cultural centre.

 

       The Foundation of the Valencian Community MARQ has prepared for the new academic year a full and varied programme of fun and educational activities for the youngest visitors. From October onwards, the museum will resume the GUIDED PASSESthe animated visits and the educational workshops with some novelties to make these proposals more dynamic.   

         Schoolchildren of all ages will be able to enjoy this new season at the MARQ, whose didactics team has evaluated, together with the teaching staff of the province's schools, the activities of previous years in order to design new projects integrated into the school curriculum and enjoy both the museum and the archaeological parks.

         The calendar for this academic year proposes for the Infant and Primary school groups more lively and dynamic visitschildren will be able to dress up as real prehistoric, Iberian or Roman people. There will also be new worksheets and rooms in the museum. One of the main novelties are the excavation workshopswhere they will be able to make a site documentation project and the cultures that compose it, to obtain knowledge and study of the excavation as well as to catalogue pieces or structures.

         The Archaeological Museum also organises other activities, such as visits to the "OrellutThe terracotta is an exceptional terracotta that fuses features of the Iberian and Roman cultures, "The tales of the MARQ".which aim to awaken the interest and motivation of schoolchildren in the history and heritage of the province, or "Amarqdrina one piece".a pioneering project in which the youngest visitors select a piece from the centre's collections to investigate it in depth and deepen their knowledge.

      Lastly, it should be noted that, among the short-term projects, an exhibition dedicated to the castles in the province under the title "Stone Guardians with complete information on its history, remains and characteristics, as well as another one dedicated to the Cocentaina which will review its archaeological sites from Palaeolithic to medieval times.
