César Sánchez Visits the MARQ's collections

     

 

      The President of the Provincial Government,César Sánchez, has visited the collections and archives of the Archaeological Museum of Alicante to see first-hand the treasure trove of heritage preserved in the basement of the emblematic building.

        Sánchez toured different rooms, accompanied by the technical director of the MARQ, Manuel OlcinaHe explained the desalination processes to which the material remains found in underwater excavations are subjected, and the methods used to organise the arrival of new pieces from excavations, donations or transfers.

      These facilities are open to the public through a programme of guided tours that allow visitors to admire the more than 30,000 pieces, from Prehistory to the Modern and Contemporary Ages, which make up the most important archaeological collection in the province.
