Under the heading "Museums of the Province of Alicante".the MARQ has launched a new edition of the museum guide, revised, expanded and updated, with all the information about 84 cultural centres and museum collections of the province. The President of the Diputación de Alicante, César SánchezThis morning, he presented this dissemination tool The project is a project of the heritage collections, promoted by the institution and developed with the support of local museums.
The book, published in Spanish, Valencian and English, updates and adds information about numerous museum institutions -all of them recognised by the Generalitat Valenciana -, public or private, which host and facilitate access to the archaeological heritage, ethnological, historical, scientific, technical and social of Alicante's cultural legacy. This was detailed by Sánchez during the presentation ceremony, in which he was accompanied by the deputy for Culture, César Augusto AsencioHe also recalled the commitment of the provincial institution to contribute to the promotion and dissemination of immense cultural and historical landscape that the province treasures.
The managers and teams of the museums that appear in the guide have contributed to the updating and expansion of its content with texts and graphic material. The Diputación de Alicante maintains the support for the province's cultural centres through a series of actions channelled from the MARQ and which include, among others, temporary leasesThe museum also organises exhibitions, preliminary museum projects, restoration of pieces and travelling exhibitions. The Archaeological Museum also maintains its exhibition programme "Municipal Museums in the MARQ".
Sánchez also took advantage of the event to inaugurate the new lighting of the permanent roomsThis action helps to reduce both the electricity consumption as greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.
Another reason for undertaking this work is the low consumption that the implementation of these lights has meant, both from energy cost as of number of projectors. Al annual savingsestimated with the replacement of the old luminaires to be close to 48,000 eurosThe reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmospherefrom 221 tonnes per year to 6 tonnes per year.
Finally, the president of the provincial institution pointed out that the MARQ is one of the most important pioneering museums in accessibility, which has earned him numerous distinctions. In this sense, Sánchez has stated that "the Diputación de Alicante is working on the project"Zero Barriers",a provincial accessibility plan which, through a framework ordinance, will allow all local councils to develop a municipal ordinance to improve the accessibility of public and private spaces.
