A total of 8,658 people have visited this weekend the cultural centres of the Diputación de Alicante to celebrate the '.International Museum Day'. Under the theme 'Museums and cultural landscapes, the MARQ and the MUBAG commemorated this anniversary with a wide-ranging programme of fun and educational activities, including workshops, competitions, games, guided tours or open days with free admission for the whole familyamong other proposals.
The Deputy for Culture, César Augusto Asencio, has positively assessed the reception and emphasised that ".The Provincial Government has participated, along with other cultural centres in Alicante, in this initiative which is a different way of bringing the contents of our museums closer to the public. All have offered a wide range of possibilities to celebrate International Museum Day with culture as a reference and we are very satisfied with the response of visitors who have enjoyed and participated in each and every one of the proposals.".
The number of visitors registered this weekend at the Archaeological Museum of Alicante has been 6,252 peoplewho have been able to enjoy activities such as educational workshops for children or guided tours of the centre's permanent collection. Until the sites have also approached 306 persons who have taken advantage of the DOORS OPEN to contemplate in situ some of our most important archaeological legacies.
Likewise, users of associations such as Aspanion, Dawn Syndrome or Apesoa did not want to miss the opportunity to visit the museum through the programme "An Accessible MARQ.
