University students from the IPAC - Institute of Cultural Heritage of Laval University in Quebec, Canada - are in Villena at the headquarters of the University of Alicante taking part in the Summer School.
The director-manager of the MARQ, José Alberto Cortés, acting as cultural manager and promoter, gave a talk to the students about the MARQ as a heritage and tourism resource, followed by a visit to the Museum and the International Exhibition "Vikings".
The visit is part of the activities of the summer school that started last June 6th and will end next Wednesday 15th, with the aim of strengthening and increasing relations between the University of Alicante and the University of Laval, establishing a forum for students from both universities to meet and get to know each other in the field of tourism, cultural heritage and museums.
During this forum, theoretical and practical aspects have been raised, including classroom lectures, field visits and lectures by experts in tourism and cultural heritage issues.
In addition to the students, the MARQ meeting was attended by the director of the Canadian University of Laval, Habib Saidi, the director of the UA University of Villena, Antonio Martínez Puche, the Heritage inspector of the General Directorate of Valencian Cultural Heritage, Luis Pablo Martínez and Eriberto M. Eulisse, director of the Water Museum of Venice (Civita dell Aqua Onlus).
