The MARQ and its archaeological sites start their summer opening hours to facilitate visits by the public

         

 

        The Archaeological Museum of Alicante started the last Wednesday 15 June its summer timetable with the aim of making it easier for the public to visit during the hot months. In this way, and until the next 15 Septemberthe MARQ It will be open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 22:00, and on Sundays from 10:00 to 14:00. It will be closed on Mondays.

         Visitors to the museum during the summer will be able to enjoy the exhibition "Vikings, warriors of the north, giants of the sea" which unveils the history of this civilisation that spread terror for more than 250 years and extended its dominion over the entire European continent. The centre also houses a permanent collection which reveals to the public the archaeology of Alicante from prehistoric times to modern times.

       In addition, the archaeological sites of the Tossal de Manises (Lucentum), the Illeta dels Banyets (El Campello) and the Almudaina Almohad Tower have also modified their opening hours for the summer. The centres can be visited from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00 from Tuesday to Saturday, while on Sundays and public holidays they will only be open in the morning.

       Also, from 1 July, guided tours are scheduled at these centres: Lucentum, from Tuesday to Saturday at 10.30 am and 6.45 pm and Sundays and public holidays at 10.30 am and Illeta del Banyets, from Tuesday to Friday at 10.30 am and 6.45 pm, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays at 10.30 am. In the case of the Almudaina Tower, guided tours will be at 11.30am and 7pm from Tuesday to Saturday and at 11.30am on Sundays and public holidays.

       On the other hand, the timetable of the site of the Pla de Petracos (Castell de Castell) will be from 11:00 to 13:30 and from 17:00 to 19:30 on Fridays and Saturdays and from 11:00 to 13:30 on Sundays and public holidays. Guided tours with more than ten people can be arranged by calling 965 51 80 67.
