MARQ and Obra Social la Caixa collaborate for the first time to promote social activities and programmes

 

 

 

 

 

 

         The MARQ and the la Caixa" Welfare Projects have opened a line of collaboration focused on offering the Museum's services and programmes of activities to children and young people in schools, as well as to people at risk of social exclusion, during the current academic year. The President of the Provincial Government, César Sánchezand the commercial director of CaixaBank in the Valencia Region, Felipe PulidoThe agreement was materialised this morning with the signing of an agreement.

            Sánchez highlighted the collaboration between the two organisations and pointed out that ".One of the main objectives is to support the most disadvantaged people, with little or no resources. The MARQ Education Department develops, organises and manages educational programmes, together with other actions related to the dissemination of cultural, educational and museum content, accessibility and social responsibility, with the aim of reaching society as a whole.".

      According to Pulido, "This is the first year that "la Caixa" Welfare Projects has collaborated with the MARQ, and we have committed ourselves to a collaboration focused above all on educational activities and for groups with fewer resources, thus initiating a path on which new opportunities for collaboration will surely arise.".

     In order to achieve this aim, "la Caixa" Welfare Projects will provide 30,000 euros intended to carry out social actions and programmes during this school year. In this respect, several lines of action have been developed, headed by a calendar of educational visits and workshops aimed at all educational levels. This year there will be 600 workshops, with a ratio of 25 to 30 children, whose aim is to bring the world of archaeology, history and heritage in general closer to schoolchildren, with an active and participatory methodology.

   In addition, a series of programmes in partnership with the education community to develop the work in schools and institutes. "The stories of MARQ", "aMARQdrina a piece" and "Tell me about MARQ" are some of the already consolidated projects, to which this year we must add new proposals such as "Vikings. Giants of the MARQ", "A pirate story", "aMARQdrina a site" and "A MARQ of numbers", among others. The 1st MARQ Educational Projects Competition will also be held, aimed at disseminating the work of teachers in relation to the projects carried out with the MARQ in the professional sphere.

    In addition, the MARQ programmes every academic year teacher training days and provides educational material through the publications that have accompanied the Department of Didactics since its origins.

      The MARQ is an international benchmark within the framework of the accessibilityIn this sense, it promotes programmes aimed at disseminating the Museum's content to all types of public, adapting it to the characteristics and needs of people with disabilities. Throughout these years, collaboration networks have been created with different associations and groups that have resulted in the expansion of didactic resources for accessibility such as sign guides, guides and signs in Braille, easy reading, subtitled audiovisuals, audio-descriptive QR or reliefs in Fuser and thermofornamong others.
