At present, Kalyan Kumar Chakravarty is a consultant of Arts, Language and Culture, Government of Delhi. He has been Director General of the National Museum and Vice Chancellor of the National Museum Institute, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. He has also headed the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (National Museum of Humanity), Ministry of Human Resource Development.
