The Archaeological Museum of Alicante has organised a new conference about the international exhibition "Vikings.Northern Warriors.Giants of the Sea". The activity, which will take place next Thursday 1 December at 19:00 hrs. in the Assembly Hall of the MARQ, will be attended by the professor, writer and Chancellor of the Spanish Embassy in Copenhagen,Eduardo MoralesHe will talk about the presence of this civilisation on the Iberian Peninsula and, more specifically, about some of the few objects that they left behind as evidence of their stay.

In this regard, Morales will explain the discovery of the well known '.Little box of San Isidoro', a unique piece of its kind which is currently on display in the Collegiate Church in the town of Leon. The object, made in ivory, horn or bone with 'fretwork' decoration, is one of the few from the Viking period to have been preserved in use over the centuries before ending up in a museum. It is also an exceptional item in terms of the technical and artistic quality with which it was carried out.

This interesting cultural proposal is organised by the MARQ, in cooperation with the Queen Elisabeth Foundation of Denmarkand is part of the complementary activities that the Alicante museum is organising for the international exhibition in its galleries. "Vikings. Warriors of the North. Giants of the Sea".
