Alicante Provincial Council promotes a book on the Perputxent Valley that combines history, literature and hiking

 

 

 

 

        The Deputy for Culture, César Agusto Asencioyesterday at the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, presented the book "El Misteri de la Vall de Perputxent. Discovering the land of Castell de l'Orxa". by the writer and philologist from Alcoy Francesc Gisbert.

         As Asencio, who highlighted the collaboration between the Diputación de Alicante and the Town Council of l'Orxa, said, "This is a project to disseminate the historical and cultural heritage of Castell de l'Orxa as, through the plot, we come into contact with the history and landscape of the Perputxent Valley.". In addition, the thread is also supported by other points of interest in the area, such as the Greenway of the old railway on Alcoy and Gandía or the legends of bandits who, in this way, join the protagonists of the book.

         The publication is illustrated by María José Ruzafa and includes a toponymic map with four hiking routes that can be done in the valley, which has been elaborated by Guillem Torres. In addition, the reader will also be able to enjoy some didactic proposals prepared by the teachers. Fátima Sanmiguel and Vicent Romans.

    Gisbert, who is a regular contributor to various media, has a consolidated literary career in which the following stand out forty publications -both in the field of children's literatureas in the narrative and the research- translated into several languages, as well as numerous prizes and awards.

     With regard to its publication, the Alcoy-born author insisted that".L'Oxa is a land of legends, rondallas and tales, and this book is a special commission from the people there, a tale about their castle that at the same time allows any reader, young or old, to get to know its history.".
