MARQ has won first prize in the short film category at this year's Castilla y León Archaeological Film Festival with the film "El Reino de la Sal. 7000 years of Hallstat", directed by Domingo Rodes Sala scripted by Txiqui Martínez Carrión. The jury of the competition announced its verdict yesterday on the closing day with the prize-giving ceremony held at the Teatro Principal in Zamora.
The festival featured 25 participants, including documentaries and short films from different regions of Spain, as well as from France, Argentina, Macedonia, Portugal and the United States. The Castilla y León Archaeological Film Festival has established itself as a meeting point for the presentation of productions related to archaeology, to show the public in an attractive way research projects, exhibitions, sites, etc. and thus contribute to the dissemination of historical heritage.
The Salt Kingdom already won the first prize at the Carolina International Archaeological Film Festival (USA) in November 2015 and was awarded the Honourable Mention for Narrative by the Jury of the TAC Oregon Festival in May of the same year.
