A hundred young people aged between 15 and 17 from eight schools in Benidorm, Denia, Alcoy and Alicante have jointly developed a pioneering project in our country, "LdV Positive Disrupters", in which they propose alternative leisure and healthy tourism in response to the unbridled practices and excessive habits of some young people. To this end, they have developed several emotional routes around the province of Alicante that can be downloaded from a free mobile app, as well as a Decalogue of Intentions that they want to share with other young people their age.
In this initiative, presented on 13 June at the Marq, they propose another way of experiencing leisure, away from excesses and debauchery, respectful of the environment, using some of the most emblematic places on the Costa Blanca. They do so, moreover, coinciding with the International Year of Sustainable Tourism promulgated by UNESCO and, to carry it out, they ask for the involvement of the competent public administrations in the areas of tourism and education.
Together they have created four routes with more than 80 emblematic points of the cities of Benidorm, Alcoy, Denia, Alicante and its regions, which the pupils have geolocated. The originality of this map is that each of these points not only tells of their historical, cultural or environmental relevance, or their beauty, but going further, the pupils narrate the emotions they feel when they walk or visit them in order to share them with all those who may visit them. In addition to the map, the children have drawn up a Manifesto that includes their demands and a Decalogue of commitments to this form of tourism and leisure that they champion. Both documents, which were presented in the Assembly Hall of the Marq, will be sent to the competent authorities in the field of tourism and education at all levels.
Petitions that have also been uploaded to the platform Change.org,to achieve broad social and institutional support to help make this initiative a success. The schools participating in this project are from Benidorm: Lope de Vega International School, IES Mediterrània, L'Almadrava, Bernat de Sarrià and Beatriu Fajardo de Mendoza. Andreu Sempere Secondary School in Alcoy. IES Chabás Secondary School in Denia and Colegio San Agustín in Alicante.
In addition to representatives of the schools involved in the project, their teachers, parents and students, the presentation ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Valencian Tourism Agency, Raquel Huete, and the Managing Director of the MARQ Foundation, José Alberto Cortés, who also represented the President of the Provincial Council, César Sánchez.
