From today until 22 October, the Roman Hand of Lucentum will be on display in the Community of Valencia pavilion in the Volvo Village. A sporting event that aims to bring the essence of Valencian cultural heritage to the thousands of people who pass through the Volvo Ocean Race facilities in the Port of Alicante every day.
The piece on display is an exact replica of the original, currently on loan to the exhibition The Power of the Past, at the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid, made in bronze by the Alicante sculptor Miguel Bañuls in 2011, and which can be touched, so that it can also be enjoyed by people with different abilities and the blind, following the Marq's philosophy of an accessible museum.
