The prestigious portal www.plataformaarquitectura.cl dedicates an extensive and detailed report to the latest international exhibition hosted by the MARQ: Mayas. The enigma of the lost cities. Swiss Replica Watches
An article in which Rocamora Arquitectura, the Alicante studio that has carried out the project, reveals for the first time through models and photographs taken during the assembly, the ins and outs of this majestic scenography designed especially to house the Mayan collections in the MARQ. An exhibition that has occupied the three temporary rooms of the museum and in which the exhibition discourse immerses us in the jungle, the cradle of the Mayan culture, where the immense temples appear, making us walk through the pyramids and submerging us under the sheet of water of a mythological cenote, inserting the different pieces between the architecture and the Mayan symbolism.
The architect Ángel Rocamora has taken on the MARQ's vocation as an accessible museum and has also made the Maya an exhibition for everyone, integrating didactics and accessibility by means of trays on which the reproductions and Braille writing have been placed, so that visitors can see, touch and get to know everything at the same time. It is a setting for the senses, visual, sound, tactile, olfactory... that complements the visit for the user, and accompanies the pieces and an exceptional technical discourse that reaches the public in a very attractive way.
The exhibition design of Mayas. The enigma of the lost cities has been awarded the Emporia de Oro 2017 prize in the category of Best Installation of a Non-Travelling Ephemeral Exhibition. From May to January 2018, the exhibition has been visited by 97,590 people at MARQ.
