The MARQ Foundation, continuing its vocation of openness to society, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Peña Lírica Alicantina Cultural Society to bring the rich archaeological heritage of our province to all members of this musical group. The agreement, signed by the President of the MARQ Foundation, César Sánchez, and the President of the lyrical society, Ignacio Hernández, establishes a discount of 50% on the entrance fee to the MARQ, the Lucentum and Illeta dels Banyets archaeological sites and the Almudaina Almohad Tower, as well as the possibility for the company to hold meetings, conferences, courses or any other event in the MARQ facilities.
The Sociedad Cultural peña Lírica Alicantina was founded in 1969 and without interruption to date, and is currently musically directed by Christian Linsey. It has an extensive zarzuela repertoire, with more than 30 complete titles performed and anthologies of more than 70 different zarzuelas. It has premiered zarzuelas of its own, composed by maestro José Garberí, honorary director of the group. It has given performances in theatres all over Spain with excellent reviews of its carefully staged productions, with casts and musicians of the highest level.
