MARQ: Hyperconnected with the senses

The celebration of the ICOM this 2018 has been special for the MARQ. The theme chosen for this year by the ICOM Hyperconnected museums: new approaches, new audiencesThe MARQ has focused on accessibility and the social responsibility with which it approaches all its actions, with the ".MARQ, hyperconnected with the senses", the aim was to make visible through the museum and the archaeological sites and monuments that MARQ manages the important role played in our society by the entities and associations that fight for social integration and the defence of the interests of the groups of people with different abilities that collaborate with us, as José Alberto Cortés, Managing Director of the CV-MARQ Foundation, explained, implying not only that every day is a good day to visit our museums, but also that there is life beyond the digital. This past weekend we have commemorated International Museum Day and we have shared it with those associations with which the MARQ Foundation works on a daily basis: Alicante Down's Syndrome Association, Spanish Confederation of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities, Spanish Confederation of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities, Spanish Confederation of People with Disabilities, Spanish Confederation of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities and Spanish Confederation of People with Disabilities.nica COCEMFE-Alicante, ONCE-Alicante, Association of Deafblind People ASOCIDE and Asperger's Association of Alicante ASPALI. In this way we have learned to feel the MARQ in a different way, simply as they feel it themselves, with their abilities, by means of awareness-raising days and workshops through sport, visits with masks to the permanent galleries, tactile visits and also guided tours in sign language, etc.

The public response has been extraordinary: a total of 2,644 people have visited the MARQ, the Lucentum site, the archaeological park of the Illeta del Banyets and the Almudaina Almohad Tower from last Friday 18th until yesterday, Sunday. These days were also full of activities at the archaeological sites managed by the MARQ, including those carried out at Lucentum and La Illeta, by the Hispania Romana Association, for historical re-enactment. To all our visitors, THANK YOU for connecting with MARQ.
