Yesterday, Thursday, International Blood Donor Day, the MARQ Assembly Hall was transformed into a veritable field hospital to welcome the 473 donors who altruistically took part in this solidarity blood collection event. The day was organised by the ASISA branch in Alicante, which also set up branches at the San Juan Transfusion Centre and in Denia, with a total of 625 bags collected throughout the province. A gesture which was rewarded, as everyone who came to donate a little of their blood was rewarded with a succulent sandwich of cereal bread, olive oil, tomato, bresco cheese, anchovies and rocket, specially prepared for the occasion by the chef Pepe Rodríguez, head of the MasterChef television programme jury.
