Rupestre closes its doors with more than 85,000 visitors

The exhibition Rupestrian. The First Sanctuaries has been closed this Saturday 5th January after having registered a total of 85,063 visitors since its opening to the public, last 5th July 2018. The people of Alicante and many other visitors enjoying the Christmas holidays in our city, have wanted to say a very warm farewell to this exceptional exhibition on the origins of our first art and only during the two open days scheduled for 4 and 5 January the MARQ has received about 1,400 people. Rupestre is a tribute to the four decades of research, conservation and enhancement of rock art in Alicante on the twentieth anniversary of the inclusion of the Rock Art of the Mediterranean Arc of the Iberian Peninsula on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List.

The MARQ has also seen off PlastiHistory of Humanity, an exhibition by the Educa Foundation for the whole family, which offers an original journey through the key stages in the evolution and history of mankind, from the Palaeolithic to the era of globalisation, through plasticine figures.
