This edition of Fitur 2019 has been a great challenge for MARQ. And Fitur has been one of the privileged scenarios in which MARQ has walked to meet one of the richest and most fascinating cultures of the Middle East. The current Islamic Republic of Iran has been the cradle of the great civilisations of the ancient world and possesses a very rich cultural legacy. An important part of this heritage, kept in the National Museum of Iran, based in Tehran, will be exhibited at MARQ from the 14th of March.

The official presentation to the media took place on Wednesday 23 January at the Costa Blanca stand, part of the Valencia Region stand at the International Tourism Fair, and was attended by the Vice-President of MARQ and Deputy for Culture, César Augusto Asencio, the managing director of the MARQ Foundation, José Alberto Cortés, its Director of Exhibitions, Jorge Soler, the cultural counsellor of the Iranian embassy in Spain, Alireza Esmaeili and the director general for public diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ali Pakdaman.

Iran's history is one of the longest and longest in the world and is, above all, a chronicle of ancient and powerful civilisations.. Iran. Cradle of Civilisations will take them to the temporary halls of the MARQ from the first human presence to the 18th century through 196 pieces.

The MARQ delegation, joined on this occasion by its technical director, Manuel Olcina, had the honour of being received on Thursday 24 January by the Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and President of the ICHTO, (Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organisation of Iran), Ali Asghar Moonesanand by Iran's new ambassador to Spain, Hassan Ghashghavi.

A very productive working meeting in which it was made clear, both by the Iranian authorities and by the deputy for culture, César Augusto Asencio, and by the representatives of the MARQ, that cultural exchange between the two countries is the key to bringing people together and enriching each other. In addition to outlining details about the exhibition in Alicante, new avenues of collaboration were opened and are already being worked on, including the Exhibition Project that the MARQ will take to the National Museum of Iran later this year or the Cycle of Conferences that will contextualize the MNI Exhibition in Alicante with the collaboration of the Permanent Seminar of Iranology of the UA, as well as others related to the realization of a Cycle of Iranian Cinema within the Alicante Film Festival or a Concert of the National Orchestra of Iran in the ADDA of Alicante.

Thursday was a golden finale for MARQ in the Salón de Cristal of the Madrid City Hall, where, on the occasion of FITUR, the "Night of the Q" was held, the Gala Award Ceremony for the Q Awards for Tourism Quality, a certification received by the President of the Alicante Provincial Council and the MARQ Foundation, César Sánchez, in November 2018. by the ICTE, the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality, in the Standard UNE: 302002.
