Without a doubt, spending the night inside the MARQ is one of those experiences that the 1st ESO students of IES La Foia de Ibi will never forget. A prize for their excellent work in the provincial competition of Educational Projects of the MARQ, a project on Prehistory entitled "The adventures of Sito, Sita and Bemen in the Sanctuary of Pla de Petracos". Yesterday, Monday, before the start of this extraordinary adventure, the children collected their diplomas from the managing director of the MARQ Foundation, José Alberto Cortés, at the IES La Foia, before going to the MARQ in the afternoon to enjoy this well-deserved prize.
MARQ's educational projects are committed to awakening interest and motivation both for our history and heritage and for the world of archaeology. Understanding the importance of the extraordinary cultural legacy of our ancestors, promoting teamwork, encouraging reading and creativity are the objectives of MARQ's Educational Projects.
More than 600 schoolchildren have taken part in this school year and have developed different projects that link their work in the classroom with both the permanent collection and the archaeological sites, as well as with the temporary exhibitions at MARQ. The projects begin in September with the start of the school year.
