The MARQ and the Juan Gil-Albert Institute of Culture of Alicante will celebrate another year 'La Noche en Blanco' together with other cultural centres in Alicante. The event will take place next Friday 19 July and will include guided tours of exhibitions, music and educational workshopsamong other initiatives.
The Member of Parliament for Culture and Education, César Augusto AsencioThis morning, he presented the wide-ranging programme of activities of both centres of the Diputación de Alicante that will share cultural offerings with other facilities in the city such as The Cigarrerasthe MACA, La Lonja del Pescadothe Museum of the University of Alicante or the Volvo Ocean Race Museum. Asencio said that "once again this year the Provincial Council is joining this initiative to participate with Alicante's museums and cultural centres in the organisation of a powerful offer focused on the enjoyment of the whole family with culture as the epicentre".
The access to MARQ will be free of charge from 18:00 to 01:00 hours.limited to the capacity of the halls, with the aim of offering a series of activities mostly related to the international exhibition. Iran. Cradle of Civilisations'. which is currently on display in the museum. The programme includes proposals for the whole family, with special emphasis on the youngest members of the family.
Thus, at 7 p.m. a storytelling will narrate 'A Persian tale' for the youngest children to discover the different phases of Iran's ancient history, starting with the emergence of the first cities and ending with Islamisation. They will also learn about their writing, their ancient gods and their crafts (aimed at children aged 3 to 5).
In the meantime, and recommended for all the family, the workshop 'Crafts from prehistoric Iran'.which will take place from 20:00 hourswill reproduce a container from the spectacular repertoire of the Jiroft cultureThis type of pottery, which developed around 5,000 years ago in eastern Iran, was characterised by stone vessels decorated with inlaid stone and scenes of animals and human figures in relief. Decorating a Persian palace is the name of the workshop which will start at 21:00 hours and will work on a glazed ceramic relief from a Persian palace.
Finally, music will take over the MARQ Gardens at 8.30 p.m. with Hopper Stomp Swing Dance School Elchewho will give an introductory workshop to the Lindy Hop which is free of charge and open to the public, who are looking forward to having a good time. The evening will conclude with a swing music social dancing recommended for the whole family.
Both the activities such as workshops are free of chargeThe workshops are open to children, subject to the limitations and particularities established by the Didactic Unit and the Public Service Unit. Minors must always be accompanied by an adult to take part in the workshops and registration will take place half an hour before the start of the activities at the MARQ ticket offices.
On the other hand, the Juan Gil-Albert Institute will celebrate the 'Noche en Blanco' in the Bardín Houseas from 20:00 hourswith guided tours of the exhibitions 'Landscapes from nowhere' by José Antonio Hinojosa and 'Contemporary Art Encounters. EAC 2019' at the Museum of the University of Alicante. The first will take place at Casa Bardín and will include a meeting with the artist and the curator of the exhibition, Iván Albalate.
