Today, 23 September, is International Sign Language Day. The aim is to claim these languages as part of linguistic and cultural diversity and to raise awareness of the importance of sign languages for the full realisation of the human rights of deaf people (Resolution 72/161 adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 19 December 2017).
Currently the MARQ has signed collaboration agreements with FESORD C.V. and APESOA so that deaf people can access the archaeological content that the museum holds and participate in the activities that are carried out, helping to eliminate barriers and promoting citizen participation. Since 2012, the museum has been developing the project "Your hands speak" whose main objective is that the guided tours are conducted by members of the association itself.
