The MARQ Foundation and the Pla-Carolinas Traders' Association have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of strengthening ties between the museum and its neighbourhood and facilitating access for its members to Alicante's culture and history through various activities.
The agreement provides that members of the Pla-Carolinas Traders' Association will receive a 50% discount on admission to the MARQ, the Tossal de Manises archaeological site and the Illeta dels Banyets in El Campello. Likewise, the association will be able to hold conferences, meetings, courses or lectures in the different areas of the MARQ: the Assembly Hall, the Library, the Board Room or the gardens.
This initiative is a step forward in the MARQ's philosophy of integrating itself into Alicante society and opening up to it, starting with what is closest to it, the Pla-Carolinas neighbourhood. A museum that the residents already feel as their own, and to which they come every day to stroll through its gardens or to enjoy the cosy terrace of the Barq.
