The exhibition Alicante. Treasures of the MARQ is pioneering in many aspects: it is the first exhibition that a Spanish museum is exhibiting in Iran, MARQ has introduced didactic and accessibility resources in the National Museum of Iran MNI and, in addition, the catalogue of this exhibition has become the first Spanish archaeology book to be translated into Farsi. The official presentation took place during the lectures that the MARQ delegation gave yesterday in Tehran and generated great expectation in the Iranian media.

The series of lectures was organised by the Iranian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its embassy in Iran, the MNI, the MARQ and the University of Alicante.

Talks were given by José Alberto Cortés, managing director of the MARQ Foundation, Jorge Soler, head of Exhibitions and Dissemination of the Alicante museum, the archaeologist José Luis Menéndez, José Cutillas, director of the seminar on Iranology of the UA, Rafael Pérez, director of the Architecture Department of the Provincial Council, and Luis Pablo Martínez, inspector of Movable Heritage in the Territorial Service of Culture in Alicante of the Generalitat Valenciana and instructor of the files that have made it possible for this exhibition to reach Iran.

Archaeologists, technicians and experts from Alicante are taking part today in a conference at the University of Tehran.
