The MARQ closed the year with 190,206 visitors, almost twenty thousand more than in 2018. These figures, put in relation to the records published by the Ministry of Culture, regarding visits to the museums of the state network in 2019, would place the MARQ among the top three museums in the Spanish network in terms of the number of visitors. the top ten in the country for archaeologists. This has been confirmed by the vice-president of the Diputación de Alicante and deputy for Culture, Julia Parra.
Parra stressed that "the results obtained in 2019 are mainly due to the recognised dedication and continued effort of all the MARQ staff, who have managed to offer a wide-ranging, attractive and first-rate cultural proposal within the reach of an increasingly demanding public".
Of the total number of visitors, 166,006 for the museumThe number of visitors increased by 30,023 compared to 2018, while the sites and monuments that are part of the MARQ management network also achieved excellent records. Likewise, 572,285 pages were viewed from a total of 140 different countries. Among the origins of these visits, those from Mexico, the United States, Argentina, the United Kingdom, Colombia and France stand out, although in comparative terms with 2018, the users with the greatest growth in the number of visits came from Iran (235%), Pakistan, Japan, Greece, Ukraine and the United States, the latter five with increases of over 150%.
Throughout 2019, in the social networks linked to the museum 21,470 followers on Facebook - compared to 18,958 in 2018 - and 17,701 followers on Twitter - compared to 16,636 in 2018 - and 7,656 followers on Instagram - with 5,478 in 2018.
