The Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia Parraand MARQ officials have held the first meeting with the cultural counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Spain, Liu Wenqiuwho expressed institutional support for the temporary exhibition. The Terracotta Warriors of Xi'an. Eternal Guardians of the First Emperor'. which is scheduled to arrive at the Alicante museum in November.
Parra assured that the Chinese representative described the cultural project "as the most important in which the embassy will participate in the coming years, offering all its support and collaboration to the Alicante delegation". The meeting, held at the stand of the Asian country in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), was also attended by the managing director of the MARQ Foundation, José Alberto Cortésthe museum's director, Manuel Olcinaand the Head of Exhibitions and Dissemination, Jorge Soler.
Cortés detailed that the Diputación de Alicante has made available the China Cultural Centre in Madrid for the official presentation of the exhibition. According to the managing director of MARQ, "this is undoubtedly an opportunity to strengthen the ties of friendship between the two countries with the aim of contributing to a better and greater knowledge of the great cultural heritage, both material and intellectual, that China possesses and to make it accessible to the whole of society".
