The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, visits MARQ in Tehran

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Policy, Spain's Josep Borrell, made his first visit to the Iranian capital on Monday as head of European diplomacy. In a very busy political agenda, Borrell met with Iranian President Hasan Rohani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Ali Larijani.

The meetings took place in the premises of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, very close to its National Museum, which has allowed the visit of the high representative of the EU to the exhibition "Alicante. Treasures of the MARQ", the first exhibition to be shown in Iran by a Spanish museum. During the tour of the exhibition, Borrell was accompanied by the director of the MNI, Jebrael Nokandeh. The exhibition can be enjoyed in Tehran until 8 April and has already been visited by more than 15,000 people.
