The MARQ opens a virtual tour of the exhibition 'Idols. Millenary glances'.

The CV Foundation. MARQ makes available to the public a new online initiative to visit the temporary exhibition 'Idols. Millennial Glances'. through a video accessible from the web of the cultural centre.

The Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia Parra, pointed out that "this proposal provides a new opportunity to overcome the barriers that exist as a result of Covid-19 and to enter into a unique exhibition that has the backing of around twenty museums in Spain and Portugal". The exhibition, which opened on 29 January, has been closed to the public since 12 March in application of the measures adopted by the state of alarm.

The audiovisual, which is now available, is a work carried out by Ángel Rocamora's initiativeThe architect responsible for the Ídolos project, with the collaboration of its entire teamof the curators of the exhibition Primitiva Bueno and Jorge Soler and MARQ staff. The video will allow the public to continue to enjoy the exhibition digitally, adapting to new circumstances and needs. This will contribute to the development of a new museography in line with the new technological society of the 21st centuryThe task in which the MARQ is a pioneer.

'Idols. Millennial Glances'. is a joint project with the Regional Archaeological Museum of Madrid (MAR)The exhibition, the future home of the same after its stay in the Alicante museum. Parra remarked that "this exhibition is an example of cooperation and shared work that has had the support of the Alicante Provincial Council and the Community of Madrid, among many other institutions and entities, and it is a great satisfaction that from today our visitors can see it again with a single click".

The video of 'Idols' is part of the online campaign developed through the website www.marqalicante.com with the identifying name #quedateencasaconelmarq. Since its launch, users are spending more time and interest in the content, with a 9% increase in the number of sessions, a 7% increase in the number of pages viewed per session and a 28% increase in the average duration of each session. There has also been an increase in the number of followers on social networks.

From 1 January 2020 the MARQ website accumulates 161,000 page viewsof which one third have occurred since 14 March, from 120 countriesan indicator of the the museum's ability to make Alicante known in an international context.
