The Almudaina Towerwhich is managed by the MARQ Foundation, reopens its doors this Saturday 20 June with comprehensive health and safety measures to preserve the health of both its workers and citizens. In this respect, the capacity of visitors will be controlledwhich is limited to a maximum of four people per pass.
The Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia Parraannounced that "after nearly three months closed to the public in compliance with the restriction measures imposed by the COVID-19 crisis, the Almudaina Almohad Tower will resume its activity this weekend. We hope that in the coming weeks more cultural facilities can be made available to the public with full guarantees.".
In addition, dispensers have been installed for hydroalcoholic gel and signage security along the whole itinerary and it will be compulsory to use gloves and mask. To facilitate compliance with these measures, the enclave will provide users with the 'KitMarq', in which they will find individual protection material and a sheet detailing the recommendations and rules to be followed during the route.
The guided tours The monument can be visited from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm from Tuesday to Saturday, while on Sundays and public holidays the opening hours will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Almudaina Almohad Tower is considered to be one of the most important Bien de Interés Cultural -BIC-. The building, which dates back to the first half of the 13th century, was restored and museumised by the Architecture Department of the provincial institution. After its opening to the public in August 2009, the Tower was integrated into the network of archaeological sites, archaeological parks and interpretation centres of the MARQ and its Foundation.
