The Archaeological Museum of the County Council of Alicante (MARQ) today closes the temporary exhibition 'Ídolos Miradas Milenarias' with an open day with the visit of the vice-president and deputy of Culture, Julia Parra. The Head of Culture confirmed that "more than 29,000 people have been able to enjoy this exhibition since it opened on 29 January this year, thanks to the collaboration with the Community of Madrid and many other institutions that have donated their pieces to make up this excellent collection".
Julia Parra has made a positive balance of the public figures achieved "very significant, despite the closure of the museum in the period from 12 March to 8 June due to the pandemic decreed by the coronavirus". Since the reopening of the cultural centre on 9 June, 1,428 visitors have passed through the exhibition, which, added to the 27,856 who passed through the exhibition in the first period, gives a total of 29,284 people up to yesterday, Saturday.
The MARQ has all the necessary measures to ensure the health of workers and employees. During the last few months, all the necessary work has been carried out for the development of the facilitieswith a investment of around 40,000 eurosand obtain the COVID guarantee seal granted by the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE), which accredits the building as a safe museum. As general measures, visitors are informed on arrival of the obligatory use of masks, the safety distances to be maintained and the established itinerary, with a maximum capacity of 20 people per room, among other recommendations.
As of tomorrow, the work to move the exhibition 'Idols. Millenary Glances' exhibition at Regional Archaeological Museum of Madrid (MAR). The MARQ will continue to offer its visitors the permanent exhibitions and in winter it is expected to host the exhibition 'The Warriors of Xi'an'.
